Since 2019, Sshrishti has made attempts to incorporate technology in the teaching-learning process in order to ensure better learning outcomes among rural children in Uttarakhand by collaborating with esteemed organisations like Google.
Digital Shakti is a device distribution programme (smartphones) aimed at generating evidence of scalable and cost-effective models of device distribution for sustained engagement and ensuring positive learning outcomes for children. In its implementation, Digital Shakti is supported by Byju’s, ACT and IIMA.
On 15th May 2019 Sshrishti partnered with a new initiative by Google to improve Hindi and English of the children aged 6 to 9 years, both school going and non-school going children of the state by using the BOLO app. The interactive app designed to make learning both the languages interesting and easy. The applications facilitated progressive, faster and long lasting learning outcomes among the target group. Orientation and training was provided to the Saathis who were to be deployed in the fairly remote and difficult project terrain. The project region covered eight districts of Uttarakhand namely Almora, Nainital, Bageshwar, Champawat, Dehradun, Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar and Uttarkashi districts. Each of the 800 Saathis had the individual target of 160 beneficiaries and at the end of the implementation the project successfully achieved the target base of 1,28,000 beneficiaries.
